FOIA Request to Allegheny County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Pittsburgh Review have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq.
The request specifically seeks access to pre-election test reports for election voting machines in electronic format, preferably PDF. The requested fields within these reports include the test date, machine manufacturer, machine model number, and machine status (pass or fail).
Our aim as a media organization is to gather and report news to the public in a transparent and accountable manner. Access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We will continue our efforts to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public through diligent reporting and investigation. We eagerly await the response from the Allegheny County Election Department regarding this request.
