The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to begin a brief two-game road trip, which is also part of the Highmark Dads Trip, as they prepare to face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 PM. Fans can watch the game on SportsNet Pittsburgh and ESPN+, or listen via 105.9 the X and the Penguins app.

Currently, both teams hold similar records with Pittsburgh standing at 23-24-9 and Philadelphia at 23-26-7. The Penguins have recently secured a character win in New York City despite missing key players Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Crosby is being evaluated for an upper-body injury, but head coach Mike Sullivan noted it was "encouraging he was on the ice for the optional game-day skate."

Bryan Rust continues his consistent performance, adding two assists in last night's match against New York, marking his ninth multi-point game of the season. Rickard Rakell has been called up to join Team Sweden for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off after a strong season performance.

Emil Bemstrom has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins following a successful season that earned him an AHL All-Star Challenge appearance alongside Owen Pickering.

Sidney Crosby's recent form includes four goals in five games and assists in three consecutive games played. He approaches milestones in all-time goals and assists lists.

Tonight's game marks the conclusion of their 11th back-to-back series this season, where they currently hold a record of 9-12-0 overall in such scenarios.
