The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the signing of veteran tight end Donald Parham Jr. to a one-year contract. This decision comes after Parham's tenure with the Denver Broncos, where he spent the 2024 season on their practice squad but did not participate in any games.
Donald Parham Jr. is familiar to fans from his four-season stint with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2020 to 2023. During his time there, he played in 47 regular-season games and started 23 of them. His career stats include 67 receptions for 764 yards, averaging 11.4 yards per catch, along with 11 touchdowns. Additionally, he has postseason experience, having played in one game for the Chargers where he recorded four receptions for 23 yards.
In particular seasons, Parham showcased his capabilities as a tight end. In 2021, he was a starter in nine games and managed to secure 20 receptions for a total of 190 yards and three touchdowns. The year 2023 marked a personal best for him with a career-high of 27 receptions amounting to 285 yards and achieving both team and career-high four touchdowns during that season.
Before joining the NFL ranks, Parham demonstrated his skills in the XFL while playing for the Dallas Renegades. He appeared in five games and became known as the league's top tight end due to his impressive performance of catching 24 passes for 307 yards — placing him third among all XFL players — alongside four touchdowns.
Parham’s football journey began at Stetson University where he distinguished himself as first-team All-America in his senior year. His outstanding college record includes leading both FBS and FCS tight ends by catching an impressive total of 85 passes for 1,319 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns.
