Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been recognized as the NHL's Third Star of the Week for his performance ending November 3, 2024. Over three games, Crosby accumulated seven points, including four goals and three assists, making him a key contributor to the Penguins' offense during this period.

Throughout the week starting October 28, Crosby's seven points positioned him tied for fifth in the NHL. Notably, only Alex Ovechkin from Washington surpassed him in goals with five last week. Crosby achieved multiple points in each game and scored multiple goals in his last two matches. This achievement marks the seventh time he has scored multiple goals in consecutive games during his career. Should he score two or more goals in his next game, it would be only the second time he has done so over three consecutive games.

Crosby also delivered game-winning goals in two successive matches, bringing his career total to 93. This ties him at 14th place on the NHL’s all-time list for game-winning goals alongside Hall-of-Famers Sergei Fedorov and Joe Nieuwendyk. No other player this season has surpassed Crosby's tally of three game-winners.

With four goals added this week, Crosby is now just three shy of becoming the 21st player in NHL history to reach 600 regular-season goals. After playing 13 games this season, he shares the team lead with Evgeni Malkin at 14 points each. His contributions include five goals and nine assists, placing him second overall for Pittsburgh.
