The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced the acquisition of a 2025 second-round draft pick from the Washington Capitals. In return, forward Anthony Beauvillier will join the Capitals. This transaction was confirmed by Kyle Dubas, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Penguins.

This move increases Pittsburgh's total number of draft picks to 28 over the next three NHL Drafts. These include four first-round selections and 16 picks in the first three rounds. According to Dubas, "No team has more draft picks, or selections in the first three rounds, over the next three NHL Drafts than Pittsburgh."

The trade reflects strategic planning as teams position themselves for future success through drafting.
