Canada and the United States are set to face off again in the 4 Nations Championship after Canada's victory over Finland. Sidney Crosby led Canada with a goal and an assist, securing a 5-3 win on Monday. The upcoming rematch will take place at Boston's TD Garden on Thursday at 8 PM, broadcast on ESPN, ESPN+, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports.
Reflecting on the recent game, Crosby stated, “I think coming off that emotional game we came off of the game before, had to re-invest here. Thought we did a great job of that.” He emphasized the importance of contributions from various players: “Got some big plays from a lot of different guys and different guys stepped up when we needed it.”
Crosby played a key role in maintaining possession for Canada and scored an empty-net goal. Despite leading 4-0 initially, Finland managed to score three consecutive goals. Crosby commented on their performance: “We got off to a great start, some big goals early... I thought we played pretty solid throughout.”
Crosby currently leads the tournament in scoring with five points. Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper praised Crosby's influence: “He’s a true inspiration to all the young guys in our locker room, and even older guys.”
Team USA's coach Mike Sullivan acknowledged the challenge of coaching against Crosby: “I'm so used to having him on our bench – and I kind of like it that way.” Sullivan highlighted Crosby's ability to elevate his game under pressure.
The U.S. team will aim to replicate their previous success against Canada while adjusting strategies for Thursday's match. Crosby remarked on learning from past experiences: “Just understanding the challenge... Knowing what we’re up against... we’ll look to do that Thursday."
