Pittsburgh Review

A man from Northfield, Ohio, has been sentenced to 34 months in federal prison for trafficking cocaine in Western Pennsylvania. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan.

Senior United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti handed down the sentence to Peter Williams, aged 58. Williams had previously pleaded guilty to charges of possessing with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base in early 2021. In addition to his prison term, Judge Conti ordered that Williams serve three years of supervised release.

The court was informed that on January 5, 2021, Williams was stopped by police on Interstate 80 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. During the stop, authorities discovered he possessed over 300 grams of cocaine with the intent to distribute it. Williams has a history spanning four decades involving serious crimes across multiple states, including prior drug trafficking and weapons offenses.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller prosecuted the case for the government.

United States Attorney Olshan praised both the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their roles in investigating and successfully prosecuting Williams.
