The Steelers have made adjustments to their roster, signing linebacker Ade Ogundeji to the practice squad while releasing offensive tackle Dylan Cook.
Ogundeji's journey with the Steelers has seen several transitions this season. Initially signed to the practice squad at the beginning of the regular season, he was later promoted to the 53-man roster for the game against the Raiders, where he played 16 snaps and achieved a pass defense. Following this game, he returned to the practice squad but was again elevated to play against the New York Jets before being waived.
Ogundeji entered professional football as a fifth-round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. In his rookie year, he participated in 16 games and started in 11, recording 33 tackles, one sack, a pass defense, and a fumble recovery. The following year saw him starting all 16 games with an improved tally of 42 tackles and one sack. Unfortunately, a foot injury sidelined him for the entire 2023 season.
Meanwhile, Cook began this season on the Reserve/Injured List and had been under evaluation since October 17th when his return window was opened. Despite spending last year on the active roster, Cook did not appear in any games during that period.
