This childbirth series offers expectant parents an opportunity to receive answers to their questions about giving birth and reviews what typically happens when they come to the hospital in labor. The course will be offered in one 6 hr. Saturday session or three weeknight 2 hr. sessions.
Through these classes, parents will learn the signs of labor and comfort measures including relaxation skills and paced breathing, as well as anesthesia options. The Birthing Person and their support person will rehearse for labor to help ease anxiety surrounding the birthing experience. This comprehensive course also addresses postpartum emotions. All instructors are nationally certified childbirth educators.
This course is offered virtually via Microsoft Teams.
We recommend that expectant parents complete this course 2-4 weeks prior to their due date.

For VIRTUAL classes, please register the names of ALL persons attending the class.

Here are some important guidelines for this virtual program:
- You may opt out of sharing your name, image, video, and/or audio during the class.
- The same confidentiality rules will apply in a virtual class as would in an in-person class--Recording or screenshots of the virtual class are prohibited.
- Registration will close 3 days prior to the class date so that a Microsoft Teams invitation can be emailed to participants.

REFUND POLICY
A refund will be provided for cancellations 2 weeks prior to the start of class. Students cancelling less than two weeks in advance will receive credit towards a future class.
A refund/credit will not be issued if you cancel the day of the class/course.
No partial refunds are available in the event of missed classes.
UPMC reserves the right to cancel class, event, or fundraiser due to low enrollment or instructor unavailability. A full refund will be provided in these instances.
