Chatham University issued the following announcement on July 22.

Chatham University is partnering with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Carnegie Mellon University to offer Osher courses at Chatham’s Eden Hall Campus in Richland Township beginning fall 2021.  

Lifelong learning offers the chance to increase knowledge, enhance skills, interact with peers, and increase social and cultural awareness. Courses span the arts to wealth management to history, science and more and are taught by members, volunteers, faculty from Carnegie Mellon and Chatham Universities, and other regional colleges and universities, and representatives from community organizations.   

Fourteen classes are available this fall at Eden Hall Campus and classes begin on September 13, 2021. As a special introductory offer, new participants in North Hills zip codes will be able to bypass the waiting list to become a member of Osher at CMU. There are no age limits, no credits, and no tests required.  

When applying for membership, participants must complete a Vaccination Attestation Form (VAF) and a release form. In-person courses at CMU and Eden Hall are being offered for those that are vaccinated – both universities currently require their student populations to be vaccinated. Classes will also be available via Zoom, for those who prefer that format option.  Group and individual lessons on the use of Zoom are available, if needed.
