OPINION: Kamala Harris and Joe Biden Would Crush Pennsylvania’s Energy Sector

Pennsylvania is the second largest energy producer in our nation.

This is thanks to President Trump, who has worked to reduce harmful government bureaucracy that allows our nation’s energy sector to soar to new heights. This is a dramatic change to the national and international dynamics from a strategic perspective, as America is now more secure thanks to at long last becoming energy independent.

As chair of Pennsylvania's Intergovernmental Operations Committee, I have seen firsthand how destructive our 159,000 state regulations are on our citizens, crushing them with heavy taxation and oppression.

However, President Trump is setting a new standard for Pennsylvania to emulate.  His administration has cut seven regulations for every new one introduced.  This has breathed new life into depressed communities and unleashed the American potential.

President Trump's reduction of cumbersome and destructive over- regulation has delivered results.  Before the coronavirus hit, unemployment was at record lows and even over the last three months, the economy has seen more than 9 million jobs return. This is only because President Trump put people above politics. This pro-growth and pro-people policy has led the economy to historic heights not once, but twice.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris, have pledged to eliminate America's oil, coal, and gas industries. This would result in the loss of more than 10 million American jobs.

Biden's misguided energy policies would strengthen Russia and other energy producing states, such as Iran.  This would result in catastrophic outcomes strategically and endanger our men and women in uniform as well as our allies around the world.

But what about Kamala Harris? How do her policies compare to Joe Biden?

Senator Harris wants to ban fracking in our nation. This would lead to the disastrous loss of 600,000 Pennsylvania jobs and $261 billion in revenue. Our citizens would suffer across the state, which would lead to a significant spike in joblessness and poverty.

We simply cannot allow Kamala Harris and Joe Biden to break our nation, especially as President Trump’s Great American Comeback is underway. Unlike any other moment in our lifetime, we now have an opportunity to make the economy work for everyone.

Do you want four more years of President Trump fighting for American workers, or do you want Kamala Harris and Joe Biden who would not be happy until hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians are left without income and without hope?
