Former NFL running back Duce Staley is set to be inducted into the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame. The induction will take place on April 17 as part of the Class of 2024 during the 12th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony.
Staley played in the NFL for ten seasons, from 1997 to 2006, concluding his career with a three-year stint at the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his time with the Steelers from 2004 to 2006, he participated in 16 games and started in 11. Staley carried the ball 230 times, gaining a total of 978 yards and scoring two touchdowns. He also made 12 receptions for an additional 89 yards and was part of the team that won Super Bowl XL.
The year 2004 marked Staley's most active period with the Steelers, where he started ten games and accumulated 830 rushing yards from 96 carries, along with one touchdown.
Over his decade-long professional career, which began with seven seasons at the Philadelphia Eagles, Staley appeared in a total of 114 games and started in 75. His career statistics include carrying the ball on 1,430 occasions for a gain of 5,785 yards and achieving a total of 24 touchdowns. Additionally, he recorded 287 receptions covering another 2,587 yards and scored ten receiving touchdowns.
Before entering the NFL, Staley played college football at the University of South Carolina. There he rushed for a total of 1,852 yards and achieved nineteen touchdowns.
