The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed defensive tackle Esezi Otomewo to a one-year contract. Otomewo was initially drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft as the 165th overall pick. He has spent the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Throughout his three-season career, Otomewo has participated in nine games, starting in two of them. His record includes nine tackles, with three being solo stops, a tackle for a loss, two quarterback hits, and half a sack.

In 2024, he played four games for the Jaguars, starting in two and making four tackles, along with two quarterback hits and half a sack. Notably, his best performance was against the Chicago Bears where he achieved two tackles, a quarterback hit, and half a sack. During the 2023 season, Otomewo was part of the Jaguars' practice squad.

As a rookie with the Vikings, he appeared in five games and recorded five tackles, including three solo stops. His college football tenure at Minnesota saw him play in 46 games with an impressive tally of 81 tackles—50 of which were solo stops—13.5 tackles for loss, seven and a half sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He earned an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection in 2021.

Otomewo's single-game highs include total tackles at various matches such as against the Chicago Bears on October 13, 2024 (two tackles), against Cleveland Browns on September 15, 2024 (two tackles), and special teams fumble recoveries also against Chicago Bears on October 13, 2024.
