Representative Summer Lee, serving Pennsylvania's 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of statements via social media on various issues, including national security, healthcare funding cuts, and internship opportunities. Lee has been active in politics since replacing former U.S. Congress member Mike Doyle in 2023.

In a post dated March 5, 2025, Rep. Summer Lee criticized former President Donald Trump for his foreign policy decisions. She stated that "Our country is less safe and has less friends because Trump is a wannabe dictator cozying up to global tyrants like Putin and Bibi." She further urged for a reminder that such actions do not align with claiming to love America.

On the same day, March 5, 2025, she addressed the impact of budget cuts on public health and employment in Pennsylvania. She highlighted that "21,000+ jobs in PA gone. Cancer research halted. Medical breakthroughs delayed. Students' medical careers stopped in their tracks." According to her tweet, these cuts would result in increased suffering due to Trump's National Institutes of Health (NIH) budget reductions.

Additionally, Rep. Lee announced internship opportunities available in her office for Summer 2025 through another tweet on March 5, 2025. The announcement invited those passionate about public service to apply by March 15 for positions located in Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh: "Passionate about public service + eager to learn about the legislative process?"
