Rep. Summer Lee's recent Twitter activity highlights her stance on various political issues. A member of the U.S. Congress since 2023, representing Pennsylvania’s 12th district, she frequently addresses her concerns publicly through social media.
On April 9, 2025, Rep. Summer Lee criticized Republican efforts to "restore trust" in the FDA. "Republicans want to talk about 'restoring trust' in the FDA—while backing Trump and RFK Jr. as they dismantle it from the inside out," she tweeted. Lee expressed concern over policies that would result in firing 170 workers, reducing inspections, and losing top vaccine experts during a measles outbreak.
On April 10, 2025, she turned her attention to the Republican-sponsored SAVE Act, stating that it would "further suppress the vote". "It’s already illegal for non-citizens to vote. This would disenfranchise millions—married women + trans folks who changed their name, service members, people with disabilities," Lee noted, opposing additional voting barriers.
By April 11, 2025, Lee had shifted focus to encouraging constituents to utilize available government services. She highlighted the provision of free and easy tax filing options, adding that "It’s #DirectFileFriday + you can file your federal taxes for free in 25 states — PA included." She provided further guidance for accessing these services.
Lee has a background as a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and is well-versed in legal matters, having earned a JD from Howard University in 2015.
