Penguins return home for clash with Predators amid Sports Matter festivities

The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face the Nashville Predators at PPG Paints Arena in their first home game since January 14. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start, with doors opening at 5:30 PM. The first 7,500 fans will receive a Patric Hornqvist bobblehead, and limited-edition Hornqvist t-shirts will be available for purchase.

The game can be watched on SportsNet Pittsburgh and ESPN+, while fans can listen on 105.9 the X and via the Penguins app. Currently, the Penguins hold a record of 21-24-8, while the Predators stand at 18-24-7. The Penguins have managed to secure points in 12 of their last 14 encounters against Nashville.

Tonight's event marks the annual Sports Matter game presented by The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation. Fans will receive Sports Matter-themed cheer cards, and activities related to the program will be held at the DICK'S Sporting Goods Wall of Champions Hallway. Green 'Sports Matter' jerseys signed by current players will be auctioned off to benefit the foundation.

In recent team news, Sidney Crosby was named Captain of Team Canada for an upcoming international event, while Erik Karlsson was named an Alternate Captain for Team Sweden. Additionally, Crosby has been performing well this season with multiple achievements in overtime goals and assists.
