In Mobile, Alabama, the Senior Bowl offered NFL teams a chance to evaluate small-school prospects against higher levels of competition. Among those who impressed was Toledo defensive lineman Darius Alexander. Measuring 6-foot-4 and 304 pounds, Alexander showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions along the defensive line.
"I feel like I can play any position along the defensive line," Alexander stated. "I just pride myself in being the underdog and competing. It doesn't matter who I'm going against."
Alexander's performance drew comparisons to former Toledo star Quinyon Mitchell, who secured a first-round draft spot with the Philadelphia Eagles after a strong showing at last year's Senior Bowl.
The event also featured several MAC players on the National squad. Despite being rivals during regular seasons, they shared camaraderie during practices. "There's a lot of camaraderie here even though that's a rival," said Alexander.
Florida State defensive tackle Josh Farmer also stood out despite his team's challenging season. Farmer recorded 32 tackles and four sacks for Florida State in 2024.
"I just knew I was the best," Farmer expressed confidence in his abilities. He projects as both a nose tackle and an end in NFL schemes.
Other notable performances came from Mississippi's Walter Nolen, T.J. Sanders of South Carolina, and Tennessee's Omarr Norman-Lott among defensive linemen.
TCU wide receiver Jack Bech made acrobatic catches throughout the week while wearing No. 7 to honor his brother Tiger Bech, who was killed in New Orleans on New Year's Eve.
"It means the world to me and my family," Bech said about honoring his brother through this gesture by fellow players.
Kansas running back Devin Neal displayed versatility as he balanced power with speed during practices at nearly 5-foot-11 and 220 pounds. A three-time 1,000-yard rusher at Kansas University showed he could be an every-down back capable of contributing significantly to any team willing to take him up come April’s NFL Draft day too!
"I want to be an every-down back and show teams I'm capable of doing that," Neal remarked regarding showcasing all aspects within football games now more than ever before!
