A Glassport resident has admitted guilt in a federal court for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, according to an announcement by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan. Rashee Beasley, aged 33, entered the guilty plea before Senior United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer.
The court was informed that Beasley, with a history of multiple felony convictions, was discovered with a loaded and stolen firearm on October 27, 2022. Federal law prohibits individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Judge Fischer has set the sentencing date for May 14, 2025. The potential penalty includes up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The actual sentence will depend on the severity of the offense and Beasley's prior criminal record.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway is handling the prosecution for this case. The investigation leading to Beasley's prosecution was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Monroeville Police Department.
