Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson has resumed practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers, although he remains on the Reserve/Injured List. Anderson joined the Steelers in September and was placed on the injured list on December 14. The team has a 21-day period to decide whether to activate him or keep him on the list for the rest of the postseason.
Originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent after the 2019 NFL Draft, Anderson has played in 46 games and started 14 during his career. His journey included stints with both the Patriots and New York Jets before joining the Denver Broncos' roster in 2019.
During his time with Denver, Anderson played all 16 games in 2020, starting at both right and left tackle. In 2021, he appeared in 11 games, starting three at left tackle. The following year, he participated in 14 games for Denver, starting seven at left tackle and allowing only two sacks without any holding penalties.
In preparation for the 2023 season, Anderson signed with New England as an unrestricted free agent. He played five games that year, starting two before being sidelined due to injury.
Anderson's college career began at Rice University where he played in 36 games and earned honorable mention All-Conference USA honors in consecutive years. He completed his college football tenure at the University of Texas, where he started all games in his final season and received All-Big 12 Conference recognition.
