Pittsburgh Review

The Pittsburgh Penguins returned from their holiday break with renewed energy after a successful stretch of games, boasting a 9-3-1 record since Thanksgiving Eve. The team reconvened in Cranberry following three days off.

"We had a spirited practice today, and we’re excited to get back at it. Certainly, those last few days will be helpful for the group," head coach Mike Sullivan stated.

Forward Anthony Beauvillier expressed similar sentiments: "Everyone's happy, and everyone seems refreshed and rested. In the middle of the season, to have that kind of break is obviously huge for any team."

Before heading to Long Island for a series against the Islanders, several players shared how they spent their time off.

Michael Bunting celebrated his first Christmas as a married man with his wife Jordan in Scarborough. They balanced time between both families and continued his high school tradition of Secret Santa with friends. "I got two gifts, but I can’t say one [laughs]. The other was Lululemon sweatpants," he revealed.

Phil Tomasino visited Toronto for family time and enjoyed home-cooked meals by his Nonna. "Honestly, too many things to say, but it was pretty damn good," he commented on the feast prepared for about 20 people.

Anthony Beauvillier returned to Montreal where he engaged in family traditions like playing darts on outdoor rinks.

P.O Joseph went back to St. Louis to gather belongings and spend time with family over board games and his grandmother's cooking.

Matt Grzelcyk stayed in Boston with friends and family while enjoying football and competitive rounds of 'Left, Center, Right.'

Blake Lizotte hosted family in Pittsburgh for an array of board games during the break. He mentioned 'Ticket to Ride' as a favorite due to its strategic nature.

Rickard Rakell celebrated by attending a Steelers game with Marcus Pettersson and their spouses before engaging in festive activities dressed as Santa Claus across both households using shared costumes.
