Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was named the Steelers Digest Player of the Week following a standout performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Just two days after his 36th birthday, Wilson played a crucial role in securing a much-needed victory for his team.

In the game, Wilson completed 29 out of 38 passes, achieving a completion rate of 76.3 percent and amassing 414 yards. He threw three touchdowns and one interception, resulting in a passer rating of 126.4. This marked the first time since November 2018 that a Steelers quarterback passed for over 400 yards and the first time since October 2018 that the team scored over 40 points in a game.

Wilson's performance included successful completions to ten different receivers across various positions: tight ends, running backs, and wide receivers. His ability to adapt plays at the line of scrimmage based on defensive setups contributed significantly to what has been described as some of the best quarterback play for the Steelers since before Ben Roethlisberger's elbow surgery.

The victory ended with a score of 44-38 in favor of Pittsburgh. Other players considered for Player of the Week honors included Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Najee Harris, Payton Wilson, Nick Herbig, Pat Freiermuth, and DeShon Elliott due to their notable contributions during the game.
