After conceding a first-drive touchdown in Las Vegas, the Steelers' defense responded with a determined effort against the Raiders. Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin noted, "I think we've chased the ball all year," adding that the team's ability to recover loose balls was key in their recent 32-13 victory at Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders initially advanced 70 yards for a touchdown without facing a third down. However, their subsequent possessions ended in turnovers and punts. Cornerback Donte Jackson's interception set up quarterback Justin Fields for a 7-yard touchdown run, extending the Steelers' lead.

Austin praised his team's progress: "I like where we are. I like how we're progressing." The defense's performance supported scoring drives starting deep in Raiders territory.

Looking ahead, the Steelers will face Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium. The Jets have recently acquired wide receiver Davante Adams. The Steelers might see outside linebacker Alex Highsmith return after missing three games due to injury. Austin commented on Highsmith's potential impact: "Obviously, when you have another quality rusher they have to account for both of them."
