Forward Anthony Beauvillier has joined the Pittsburgh Penguins on a one-year contract as a free agent, announced by President of Hockey Operations and GM Kyle Dubas. Dubas mentioned that Beauvillier is ready to "bet on himself" following a challenging 2023-24 season.

Beauvillier expressed confidence in his game after an intensive summer training session. “I feel like I'm in the right place mentally, and I have a lot of trust in my game right now,” he said at the conclusion of training camp.

The Penguins placed Beauvillier alongside Sidney Crosby from the beginning. His skills in puck pursuit, creating space, and finding open areas complement Crosby's style. Reflecting on playing with Crosby, Beauvillier stated, “Obviously a role model for me growing up and always loved his game, the way he plays, how hard he does it.”

Their collaboration showed results when Beauvillier scored twice against Detroit with assists from Crosby. Head Coach Mike Sullivan commented on their performance: “When you play with a player like Sid... there's pressure to play there... So, I think Sid and Beau have established some chemistry.”

On his day off before facing the Maple Leafs, it was hoped that Beauvillier enjoyed brunch—a favorite pastime. He shared insights into his life during a recent Q&A session.

Beauvillier explained his nickname 'Tito' as slang for Anthony. He described Sorel, his hometown near Montreal, as family-oriented and often visited during summers for its golf courses.

He recounted getting stuck in an elevator at PPG Arena during his brother Francis's draft by Florida in 2012. Despite this mishap, he fondly remembered exploring Pittsburgh.

Growing up admiring both Canadiens and Penguins teams due to Marc-Andre Fleury's influence from Sorel-Tracey led him to co-organize a local golf tournament with Fleury and François Beauchemin.

If not playing hockey, Beauvillier would consider being involved in sports or teaching gym classes. Besides hockey, he enjoys tennis and pickleball.

His grocery staples include crackers paired with cheese while TV favorites are Friends or How I Met Your Mother. Andre Agassi’s book "The Open" is among few he's read but remains favored.
