Pittsburgh Penguins set roster for 2024-25 NHL season

The Pittsburgh Penguins have confirmed their roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The announcement was made by Kyle Dubas, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager.

The team will start the season with a total of 22 players. This includes 13 forwards: Noel Acciari, Anthony Beauvillier, Michael Bunting, Sidney Crosby, Lars Eller, Cody Glass, Kevin Hayes, Evgeni Malkin, Rutger McGroarty, Drew O’Connor, Jesse Puljujarvi, Valtteri Puustinen and Rickard Rakell. The defense lineup consists of Ryan Graves, Matt Grzelcyk, Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Marcus Pettersson, Ryan Shea and Jack St. Ivany. Joel Blomqvist and Tristan Jarry are the two goaltenders.

Several players are on Injured Reserve: forwards Blake Lizotte and Bryan Rust along with goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. Forward Matt Nieto is on Long-Term Injured Reserve while forward Vasily Ponomarev is designated as Injured Non-Roster.

Forward Boko Imama and defenseman Sebastian Aho have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League.

Seventeen of these players were part of last year's lineup. New additions include Anthony Beauvillier via free agency; Cody Glass through a trade with Nashville; Kevin Hayes from a trade with St. Louis; Rutger McGroarty acquired in a trade with Winnipeg; and Matt Grzelcyk signed through free agency.
