Even at this late point in the season, players still have the opportunity to change the narrative of their year. The latest edition of the Starting Pitcher Power Rankings exemplifies this.

Reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell had a challenging start with the Giants, marked by a delayed season commencement, multiple injured list stints, and subpar performance. By July 9, Snell had only six starts and a 9.51 ERA. However, he has now entered the top 10 for the first time this season and is among an all-southpaw top three.

The rankings are determined by an MLB.com panel considering track record, season-long performance, and recent success. All statistics are current through Tuesday’s games.

1. Tarik Skubal, Tigers (Last poll: 2)

This marks Skubal’s third time topping the rankings this season and his eighth consecutive appearance in either first or second place. 2. Chris Sale, Braves (3)
