The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several roster adjustments as they commence their training camp. Linebacker Cole Holcomb and defensive lineman Dean Lowry have been placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List. Additionally, running back and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson has been placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury List.

Holcomb was previously placed on the Reserve/Injured List on November 6, 2023, following an injury sustained during a game against the Tennessee Titans. Prior to his injury, he had started all eight games of the season and played a significant role in the defense. During the team's organized team activities (OTAs), Holcomb spoke with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about his recovery process: "It's been a grind. It's gonna be a grind," said Holcomb. "But it's one of those injuries that all you've got to do is just work. I can do that. I have no problem doing that. I'll do whatever I gotta do to get back."

Dean Lowry, entering his ninth NFL season, spent his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers before joining the Minnesota Vikings last year. Drafted by the Packers in 2016 as the 137th overall pick, Lowry has participated in 120 games with 84 starts. His career statistics include 266 tackles (143 solo), 23 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, 32 quarterback hits, 17 passes defensed, one interception, five fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown), and one forced fumble.

Coach Mike Tomlin indicated that Patterson's placement on the list was due to a hamstring injury incurred during non-football related activities. Patterson is entering his twelfth NFL season and was signed by the Steelers this offseason as a free agent. He is recognized as a four-time Associated Press First Team All-Pro selection (2013, 2016, 2019, 2020) and a two-time AP Second Team All-Pro selection (2015, 2018) as a returner. Additionally, he has been selected for the Pro Bowl four times (2013, 2016, 2019, 2020).
