Carnegie Mellon University recently issued the following announcement.

"The Trouble with My Name" with Javier Ávila

Join Javier Ávila for his one man show, The Trouble with My Name, as he tells his life story and examines the issues of language, race, and social justice through an eye-opening performance. The Trouble with My Name will make audiences laugh, cry, and embrace the autobiographical journey of a man who moves between cultures to provide a fascinating perspective of American Latinos who struggle to dispel misconceptions about their identity and place in the world.

Register by Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Due to CMU COVID-19 guidelines, there will be limited seating available for this event. We strongly encourage anyone who would like to participate to register for the event. Those that register for the event will receive priority to the event. While we welcome people to stop by without registering there will be no guarantee that there will be seats available.

Note: There will be no food allowed during the event and we encourage all guest to eat before or after the event. All guest will be required to wear masks while attending the event and to adhere to all of Carnegie Mellon’s COVID guidelines.
