Allegheny Campus Child Development Center issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce that Citizens is the lead sponsor for “Advancing Diversity at Community Colleges: Constructing a CDO Playbook,” which will be hosted by CCAC on September 22–24. The virtual diversity experience is designed specifically for Chief Diversity Officers (CDOs) at the nation’s community colleges. Convener of the virtual institute will be Coopwood Diversity Leadership & Education Universal (Coop Di Leu).

Mark Rendulic, Strategy and Development Head – Executive Vice President, Citizens, will introduce author, professor and anti-racist activist Ibram X. Kendi, the speaker of the opening plenary session “Diversity and Social Justice.” Director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research, Kendi is one of the nation’s most prolific and accomplished young professors of race, writing for and speaking to both scholarly and general audiences.

“At Citizens, we know that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are an essential element of everyone’s success. Through our community initiatives, Business Resource Groups, and colleague programs, we demonstrate every day how we don’t just talk about Diversity & Inclusion, we wear it on our rolled-up sleeves,” said Rendulic.

The institute will also feature Dr. Quintin Bullock, president, CCAC; Dr. Ken Coopwood, CEO, Coop Di Leu, LLC; Dr. Kevin Christian, director of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, American Association of Community Colleges; and Dr. William B.
