Orientation Highlights

Orientation slate

Carnegie Mellon University issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.

Orientation helps both undergraduate and graduate students chart their CMU experiences. From day one, students begin building the foundations for academic success, community, well-being and pride in being a Tartan.

With the help of a team of CMU students and staff, new students — and students new to in-person experiences at CMU — have been participating in fun activities and seminars to meet other students, get to know the university’s culture and traditions and provide an overview of academic expectations.

Julie Schultz, associate dean for parent and family engagement and first-year orientation, said it best: “It’s not the same campus without our students here, so we’re excited to be back in the in-person mode.”
