59 percent of applicants to the University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus, 95 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Pittsburgh enrolled 28,673 students in fall 2018, including 19,330 in undergraduate and 9,343 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

60 percent of undergraduates are residents of Pennsylvania, and 35 percent are residents of other states. 5 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (70 percent) and Asian (10 percent).

The school admitted 59 percent of the 29,857 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 23 percent enrolled.
