The Ireland Funds Pittsburgh Gala took place at Acrisure Stadium on St. Patrick's Day, celebrating community contributors in line with The Ireland Funds' values. Attendees experienced an Irish-themed evening, which included performances and displays honoring Chip Ganassi and Evan Frazier.
Steelers President Art Rooney II commented on the event's significance, especially with the upcoming NFL game in Ireland: "It is special, and having the game in Ireland this year will be very special."
The event featured entertainment from Jim Lamb of Guaranteed Irish and recognized honorees like former racecar driver Chip Ganassi. Rooney praised Ganassi's contributions: "Chip deserves to be recognized... it's great to recognize him and have him be part of the celebration tonight."
Ganassi received the 2025 Daniel M. Rooney Ambassador's Award for his leadership and community contributions. He expressed pride in his roots: "Being a native of Western PA makes you realize that although success is important, doing it in the right way is paramount."
Evan Frazier was honored with the Patricia R. Rooney Community Impact Award for his work with The Advanced Leadership Institute (TALI). Frazier spoke about receiving the award: "What an honor it is to be recognized by The Ireland Fund to receive the Patricia Rooney Community Service Award."
Frazier has been instrumental in promoting Black executive leadership through TALI, which collaborates with Carnegie Mellon University.
The event also included a special online auction featuring packages such as 'Touchdown in Ireland' for Steelers fans and 'Chase the Checkered Flag' for racing enthusiasts.
Caitriona Fottrell, President & CEO of The Ireland Funds, highlighted their ongoing mission since 1976 to support causes promoting peace, culture, education, and community development.
