The Pittsburgh Steelers have secured wide receiver Ben Skowronek for another two years. Skowronek, who began the 2024 season on the team's practice squad, was promoted for games against the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos before being placed on the Reserve/Injured List in mid-September.
By November, he joined the 53-man roster and participated in ten games, starting one. During these appearances, Skowronek achieved five receptions totaling 69 yards, averaging 13.8 yards per catch. His contributions extended to special teams where he tied for fourth in team tackles with seven and led with two fumble recoveries.
Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Rams as the 249th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Skowronek played in 45 games with them and started twelve times. He amassed 58 receptions for a total of 575 yards while also spending time with the Houston Texans.
Skowronek's college career saw him at Northwestern before transferring to Notre Dame for his final year. At Notre Dame, he played eleven games achieving 29 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns. Notably, two of those touchdowns were scored against the University of Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium from two long passes totaling over a hundred yards.
