The Pittsburgh Steelers have made significant moves in the NFL free agency, enhancing their roster with five new players. The team acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf through a trade with the Seattle Seahawks and signed him to a new contract. Additionally, they secured cornerback Brandin Echols, running back Kenneth Gainwell, linebacker Malik Harrison, and cornerback Darius Slay.

Brandin Echols joins the Steelers on a two-year deal after being drafted by the New York Jets in 2021. "I bring grit, I am hungry, I am ready to play," said Echols. He has played 57 games in his career with notable defensive statistics.

Kenneth Gainwell arrives from the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year contract. "I love the toughness of this team," Gainwell stated. He has accumulated over 1,100 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns during his time with the Eagles.

Malik Harrison was signed for two years after spending five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. "It's my presence and how aggressive I am," Harrison commented on his playing style. He brings versatility to both defense and special teams.

DK Metcalf was traded from Seattle in exchange for draft picks and has agreed to a five-year contract with Pittsburgh. "I'm a physical receiver," Metcalf noted about his playing approach. He boasts impressive career stats including over 6,000 receiving yards.

Darius Slay joins on a one-year deal after playing for both Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. "It's a great opportunity here," Slay expressed regarding his move to Pittsburgh. Known for his defensive prowess, he leads all NFL players in passes defensed since 2013.

These acquisitions are expected to strengthen the Steelers' lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season.
