Summer Lee, a U.S. Congress member representing Pennsylvania's 12th district, has recently shared her views on various topics through social media posts. Elected in 2023, Lee succeeded Mike Doyle and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022.
On March 12, 2025, Rep. Summer Lee expressed concern over potential cuts to the U.S. Department of Education. She stated that "Gutting @usedgov means gutting access to critical resources for millions of students." Lee described this move as "an outright assault on public education and a calculated decision to abandon students across the country."
Later that day, she announced a job opening within her office in Pittsburgh via social media. Her post read: "Hey PA-12, we’re hiring! Our office is looking for a dedicated staff assistant to grow our Pittsburgh-based team." She encouraged individuals passionate about public service to apply.
In another tweet on March 12, Lee addressed budget negotiations in Congress. She urged Senate Democrats not to support Republicans with passing what she termed as a harmful budget. According to her post: "If they need the votes, they should negotiate a better bill." She criticized the idea of cutting funding for social services while suggesting that funds could be misallocated.
