Penguins host Devils for final home game before international break

The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face the New Jersey Devils at PPG Paints Arena in their final home game before the 4 Nations Face-Off break. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start, with doors opening an hour earlier.

The event will also mark the Penguins' annual Black Hockey History Game. The first 7,500 fans attending will receive a Rally Towel courtesy of CNX. Several organizations promoting Black excellence and supporting the Black community in Western Pennsylvania will be present near the Captain Morgan Club. Additionally, the Penguins Foundation will sell warmup pucks and autographed specialty pucks near Section 104, with proceeds going to support diversity youth hockey programs.

Fans can enjoy Dollar Dog Night, with Smith's hot dogs available for $1 each at select concession stands, limited to four per person per transaction.

Broadcast options include SportsNet Pittsburgh and ESPN+, while radio coverage is available on 105.9 the X and via the Penguins app.

Pittsburgh holds a record of 22-24-8 against New Jersey's 29-19-6 this season. Historically, Pittsburgh has earned points in 11 of its last 19 games against New Jersey since March 2021 but aims to end a five-game home losing streak against them.

Notable performances include goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic securing his first shutout of the season recently against Nashville and forward Philip Tomasino achieving his fourth game-winning goal of the season during that match. Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk is approaching his milestone 500th NHL game, while captain Sidney Crosby continues to lead with impressive statistics, nearing another career achievement in multi-point games.

Erik Karlsson remains a key player for Pittsburgh's defense, closing in on historical records for multi-point games by a defenseman.

Bryan Rust has shown strong performance against New Jersey historically, and Rickard Rakell maintains consistency with nine points over his last nine games.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton team sees Emil Bemstrom and Owen Pickering participating in the AHL All-Star Game tonight as well.
