Players in the quarterback position are often judged by their ability to lead their teams to victory. Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers' season ending with a 28-14 defeat against the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium during the Wild Card round, Russell Wilson delivered a strong performance.
Wilson completed 20 of his 29 pass attempts, achieving a completion rate of 69 percent for a total of 270 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and had no interceptions, earning a quarterback rating of 121.3. Notably, six of Wilson's completions were for gains of over 20 yards and involved five different receivers, including both touchdowns.
As a result of his efforts, Wilson has been named the Steelers Digest Player of the Week. Other players considered for this recognition included defensive tackle Cam Heyward, who recorded ten tackles with two resulting in losses; wide receiver George Pickens, who made five receptions for 87 yards including a significant 36-yard touchdown; and inside linebacker Elandon Roberts, who led the team with fourteen tackles.
