The Pittsburgh Steelers are focused on maintaining their game plan as they prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium. Last week's 24-19 loss to the Cleveland Browns highlighted the importance of staying on schedule, a lesson the team aims to apply in their upcoming match.

Quarterback Russell Wilson was often placed in challenging third-and-long situations against the Browns, completing 12 of 13 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown on third downs. Despite this performance, the Steelers found themselves frequently behind schedule, converting only seven out of sixteen third-down attempts. This inefficiency led to missed opportunities, including a failed field goal attempt from 58 yards and three unsuccessful fourth-down conversions.

"We've just got to stay on schedule in first and second down," Wilson emphasized. The team's struggles also extended into the red zone, where they converted only one of their last six trips into touchdowns.

Facing the Bengals could provide an opportunity for improvement. Cincinnati's defense ranks low in both third-down conversion percentage allowed (27th) and red zone defense (31st), potentially giving the Steelers an edge.

Head coach Mike Tomlin utilized the extra time after playing Cleveland last Thursday to analyze offensive and defensive issues. Wilson acknowledged this effort: "I think we study the things we've done well... And do more of it."

With Joe Burrow leading Cincinnati's offense with over 3,000 passing yards and Ja'Marr Chase excelling as a receiver, Pittsburgh recognizes they must capitalize on every chance against such formidable opponents.

Wilson stressed maintaining focus rather than chasing specific point totals: "It's always about the mentality... It's just being great on this play."
