The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they were unable to travel to Detroit for their scheduled game against the Red Wings due to ongoing mechanical issues with their team plane. Despite efforts to resolve the problem, the team could not find a safe way to make the trip.
"We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to all fans, media, officials and the Red Wings who were already at Little Caesars Arena," said a representative from the Penguins.
The game was planned for this afternoon but had to be canceled because of these unforeseen circumstances.
