The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face the Ottawa Senators tonight in Sudbury as part of this year's Kraft Hockeyville matchup. The game begins at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh. Fans can also listen via the Penguins app or 105.9 The X.

SportsNet Pittsburgh is covering five of the seven preseason games for the Penguins. Josh Getzoff will return as the play-by-play announcer, joined by Colby Armstrong, Mike Rupp, and Phil Bourque as rotating color commentators. Hailey Hunter will serve as rinkside reporter.

The Penguins' roster for tonight includes goalies Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic; defensemen Dan Renouf, Matt Grzelcyk, Marcus Pettersson, Owen Pickering, Harrison Brunicke, Kris Letang, and Mac Hollowell; and forwards Rutger McGroarty, Michael Bunting, Kevin Hayes, Boko Imama, Bryan Rust, Cody Glass, Sam Poulin, Jonathan Gruden, Blake Lizotte, Rickard Rakell, Anthony Beauvillier, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Crosby.

Earlier this summer, David Quinn was added to Head Coach Mike Sullivan’s coaching staff as an assistant coach. Quinn brings over 30 years of coaching experience from his time with teams like the San Jose Sharks and New York Rangers. He has also served at various international levels with Team USA.

The Penguins made several selections during the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas. Among them were Harrison Brunicke (44th overall) and Tanner Howe (46th overall). Brunicke has played parts of three seasons with the Kamloops Blazers while Howe has spent four seasons with the Regina Pats.

Pittsburgh's prospects performed well at the 2024 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo with a perfect 3-0 record. Highlights included multiple-point games from players like Tristan Broz and Atley Calvert.

On September 16th, Captain Sidney Crosby signed a two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 season valued at $8.7 million annually. Crosby holds numerous franchise records and ranks highly in NHL history for points scored.

Mike Sullivan was named head coach of Team USA for both the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off and the 2026 United States Men’s Olympic Hockey Team earlier this summer. David Quinn will assist him at the Four Nations Face-Off tournament which features players from the U.S., Canada, Finland, and Sweden.

Sullivan has a notable career record as an NHL head coach with Pittsburgh and Boston Bruins. His accomplishments include being one of three American-born head coaches to achieve over 400 wins.
