Lawn care companies that want to be a part of the fourth annual City Cuts lawn-cutting program in Pittsburgh can now submit their applications through the City's web-based portal.

Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith introduced legislation that lead to the program's establishment in 2018, according to a press release. Since then, it has helped with the maintenance of more than 2,000 lawns for senior citizens, and other people who have disabilities living in the City.

"City Cuts improves the look of the community and helps people who need a helping hand," Kail-Smith said in the release.

Pittsburgh residents who are over the age of 62 or living with a disability will be able to sign up for the complementary service in the next few months, but will need to sign a waiver in order to take part in the program, the release stated.

According to the release, businesses should include a plan, experience, and a statement of interest in the applications and register through OpenGov.

The City is also offering three virtual pre-application meetings this month. Interested businesses that would like to learn more about the application, RSVP and receive instructions on how to join the meetings, can visit the city's website and click on the Bid Opportunities tab for the "PQ List for 2022 City Cuts."
