Pitt Day of Giving (PDoG) will mark its 10th anniversary on February 24, inviting the University of Pittsburgh community to participate in a day focused on philanthropy and campus engagement.

The event is set to last 24 hours and aims to support a range of initiatives across all Pitt campuses, including scholarships, research projects, academic programs, student organizations, athletics, and other essential services. Last year’s PDoG saw participation from 11,423 donors representing every state in the U.S., as well as contributors from 23 countries across five continents.

This year’s celebration includes additional activities leading up to the main event. Beginning February 10, supporters can make early donations that will count toward the day’s totals. The university is also organizing “10 Days of PDoG,” featuring events such as trivia competitions with opportunities for participants to win funds for their preferred campus organizations, donor-sponsored plush toy hunts around campus with associated $100 donations for winners’ chosen areas, and food collection drives for Pitt Pantry.

Campus mascots Bruiser, PJ, Pounce, Piper, and Roc are scheduled to reunite on-screen during the festivities. A video game featuring these mascots will be available for students and supporters to play. Food trucks and giveaways are planned at Gallagher Plaza on February 24.

Donors are encouraged to visit the PDoG website to contribute or learn more about planned activities.

“With you on our PDoG team, we can make the 10th annual PDoG an extraordinary day for the Pitt community.”
