Rep. Summer Lee, a U.S. Congress member representing Pennsylvania’s 12th district since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through her social media platform. Her recent posts address both local and international concerns.

On May 21, 2025, Rep. Summer Lee shared a brief yet poignant message emphasizing the importance of community and personal connections: “These are our families. Our neighbors. Our lives.”

Later that day, she expressed condolences following the passing of a fellow public servant, stating: “Rep. Connolly was a dedicated public servant who worked hard to deliver for his district and country. My heartfelt condolences to his family, team, and constituents.”

In another post on the same day, Rep. Lee addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza with strong language: “Israel is deliberately starving millions in Gaza, blocking food, baby formula, and aid. They are putting civilians and children at the brink of death. This man-made famine and genocide must end.”

Summer Lee has been serving in Congress since replacing Mike Doyle in 2023 after previously serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987, she holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Howard University.
