U.S. Representative Summer Lee, who serves Pennsylvania’s 12th district, has used her social media platform to address issues ranging from health care access to systemic oppression in a series of posts published between February 12 and February 14, 2026.
On February 14, Lee wrote, “You can’t reform oppression or hatred. You have to abolish it. And we won’t stop there. We’ll hold every person accountable who contributed to this unjust system, and then we’ll build the country that we want and deserve.” The same day, she commented on health care affordability in Pennsylvania: “1 in 5 Pennsylvanians have dropped their health coverage for 2026 because the costs are too high. In the wealthiest country in the world, no one should go bankrupt for basic care. It’s well past time to fix our broken system and pass Medicare for All.”
Earlier in the week, on February 12, Lee posted a link without additional commentary: https://t.co/X9WaTLLdMk
Lee has represented Pennsylvania’s 12th congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Mike Doyle. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, Lee holds a BA from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Howard University.
