U.S. Representative Summer Lee, who represents Pennsylvania’s 12th district, addressed a range of community and national issues in a series of tweets published between March 10 and March 12, 2026.
On March 10, Lee criticized the Trump administration’s environmental policies. She stated, “The Trump administration has rolled back federal environmental regulations to make it easier for the corporate polluters who bankrolled his reelection campaign to profit off our families, our public health, and our planet. A day later, on March 11, Lee highlighted longstanding infrastructure challenges faced by communities in Western Pennsylvania. She wrote, “For far too long, communities across Western Pennsylvania, especially historically overlooked working-class communities, have been told to make do with crumbling infrastructure, abandoned properties, and a lack of investment in the spaces that bring people together. On March 12, Lee turned her attention to local journalism in Pittsburgh. She posted: “Local journalism is essential to a healthy democracy. Lee began serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 12th district after succeeding Mike Doyle in 2023. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 through 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale at age 35, Lee holds degrees from both Pennsylvania State University (BA) and Howard University (JD).
