U.S. Representative Summer Lee, who represents Pennsylvania’s 12th district in Congress, has commented on the Department of Justice’s release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, stating her commitment to transparency and justice for survivors.
On August 22, 2025, Lee posted: “The DOJ is finally beginning to deliver the Epstein files in response to our subpoena. We’re looking forward to reviewing this first batch of files and getting to the truth.”
Later that day, she reiterated her stance on pursuing accountability: “The moment we’ve been fighting for is finally here, but we will not stop pushing for transparency, truth, and justice—especially for the real people who have been harmed.”
On August 23, Lee criticized prior efforts by federal authorities regarding document disclosures: “Trump’s DOJ released 33K pages of Epstein documents — most of which are already public knowledge. It’s clear the White House is not interested in justice for survivors or victims. We’ll keep fighting to expose this cover-up.”
Lee has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding Mike Doyle and previously represented her community in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, Lee holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Howard University.
