U.S. Representative Summer Lee, who serves Pennsylvania’s 12th district, used her social media platform to address a range of policy and community issues in recent posts.
On August 7, 2025, Lee advocated for campaign finance reform, writing, “Another reason Congress should pass my Abolish Super PACs Act. Getting money out of politics means giving power back to the people.”
The following day, August 8, Lee highlighted her support for local youth initiatives with a visit to the Boys and Girls Club at Shadyside. She stated, “It was a pleasure to visit the Boys and Girls Club at Shadyside and see firsthand the incredible work they do to support, mentor, and inspire our youth. These kids are our future—and thanks to the Club, that future looks bright. Proud to support their mission.”
Later on August 8, Lee commented on federal immigration enforcement actions in Western Pennsylvania: “Yesterday’s ICE raids at Emiliano’s is just another example of how the Trump admin is terrorizing our communities and ripping families apart. This violence and cruelty has no place in Western Pennsylvania or anywhere in this country.”
Lee has represented Pennsylvania’s 12th district since replacing Mike Doyle in 2023. Before her current role in Congress, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, Lee holds a BA from Pennsylvania State University (2009) and a JD from Howard University (2015).
