Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields combined for a total of 21 touchdown passes this season—Wilson contributing 16 and Fields five—marking an increase from just 13 touchdown passes in 2023. The Steelers maintained a conservative passing strategy with only six interceptions thrown throughout the season.

Russell Wilson displayed strategic throwing patterns, completing passes between numbers on nearly half of his attempts and ranking high for average yards per attempt on throws outside numbers at 7.7 yards. He also led the league in throwaways at a rate of 7.2%.

George Pickens emerged as a key target, tying for the league lead with Ja'Marr Chase for receptions over thirty yards, each securing thirteen such plays. Pat Freiermuth became reliable late in games with consistent performances and led his team with five touchdown receptions when paired with Wilson.

On rushing plays, Pittsburgh executed runs into "stacked boxes" more frequently than most teams and created significant yardage after first contact, recording some of the highest figures across all NFL teams.

Overall, while showing improvement in certain metrics like scoring and passing efficiency inside specific formations or situations, Pittsburgh still faces challenges particularly around third-down conversions where they ranked lower compared to other teams.
