The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the signing of running back Jonathan Ward to a Reserve/Future Contract. Ward, who was part of the team's practice squad and active roster in 2024, recorded five carries for 22 yards over four games last season.
Ward initially joined the Steelers through a tryout at their rookie minicamp, leading to his subsequent signing. Over his five-year NFL career, he has participated in 47 games. His professional record includes 22 carries for 91 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Additionally, he has made six receptions totaling 52 yards with an average of 8.7 yards per reception and scored one touchdown.
Ward's journey in the NFL began when he signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent over two seasons with the Cardinals before moving to the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 season and remained there throughout 2023.
During his college career at Central Michigan University, Ward played in 42 games. He accumulated impressive statistics with 473 carries for 2,539 yards and scored 28 touchdowns. He also achieved success as a receiver with 98 receptions for 909 yards and four touchdowns.
