On January 18, 1976, the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a victory in Super Bowl X, defeating the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 21-17. This win marked the team's second Super Bowl championship during the 1970s. The game took place at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.

The match featured a clash between the Cowboys' strong offensive lineup and the Steelers' renowned defense known as the Steel Curtain. The Steelers ultimately outperformed their opponents, securing their place in history.

A key moment in the game was Lynn Swann's memorable catch, which remains a highlight in NFL Films reels. The Cowboys initially led when Roger Staubach connected with Drew Pearson for a touchdown. However, Terry Bradshaw responded by throwing a pass to Swann, setting up a touchdown that tied the game at 7-7.

The first half ended with Dallas leading 10-7 after a field goal. In the second half, Roy Gerela missed two field goals for Pittsburgh, prompting an incident where Cowboys safety Cliff Harris mocked him. This led to an altercation involving linebacker Jack Lambert and ignited motivation within the Steelers team.

Pittsburgh then scored on a safety from a blocked punt and added two field goals to take a 15-10 lead. Bradshaw later threw another touchdown pass to Swann for 64 yards, helping Swann earn MVP honors with four catches totaling 161 yards.

Though Dallas attempted to rally back, Mike Wagner deflected Staubach's last pass attempt, allowing Glen Edwards to intercept it and secure Pittsburgh's victory. This triumph gave the Steelers consecutive Super Bowl wins.
