On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers held their final team meeting of the season at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. The mood was somber as players prepared to part ways, following their loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round.

Steelers' tight end Pat Freiermuth expressed his disappointment, stating he wished they were still competing for a playoff victory. "We've just got to figure out how to get over that next hurdle," said Freiermuth. He emphasized the team's need to break past their current playoff record of 0-3 since he joined in 2021.

Freiermuth remains optimistic about future prospects, attributing his confidence to those around him and how well they performed earlier in the season. "We started off the season how we wanted to. We were 10-3 at one point with the game going into Baltimore with a chance to win the division," he recalled.

He highlighted contributions from younger players like Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu, as well as emphasizing leadership responsibilities for veterans such as himself. The team aims to maintain high standards set by past Steelers legends. "We understand the standard," Freiermuth noted, acknowledging fan expectations and historical success.

The tight end stressed execution as a key area needing improvement moving forward. "We've got to execute when games get tough and start off faster," Freiermuth explained, urging individual accountability during offseason preparations.

Looking ahead, Freiermuth underscored goals shared by all team members: winning playoff games and ultimately securing a Super Bowl victory. He conveyed determination: "That's what it means to be the Steelers, never give up."
